Happy New Year

Christa and I would like to wish everybody a Happy New Year. Here's hoping that 2008 is a great year for us all.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has helped us this last year. There are too many to mention everyone. That said people who deserve a special mention include; Julie Card from mycollingwood.ca who helped get our name out there as well as providing us with lots of opportunities for meeting people. Also a special thank you to the lovely people at On The Bay Magazine who have been a great source of motivation and validation as we start out on our business venture. Thanks to everyone at Big Folio who have provided us with a great website and blog as well as endless patient and gracious support. We'd also like to thank Stephan of Enlightened Images who provided us with not only an ear to bend and bounce ideas off but also some much needed work in our first summer.

Last but by no means least a big thank you to all our clients who we have worked with over the last year. It's been brilliant.

Performance Magazine

The winter issue of Performance Magazine was published this month. One of our photographs of Dr Draw made the front cover. Three others were used to illustrate the article. If you'd like to read it go here.

On The Bay Awards

On Thursday night On The Bay Magazine held it's annual award ceremony at Cafe Chartreuse in Collingwood. They are held in order to honor the freelance contributers to the magazine, be they photographers, writers or illustrators. Isis Photography won three awards, best cover photograph (Holiday Issue 2007), best action photo (The Sky's The Limit, Holiday Issue 2007), Best people photo (Grassroots Heros, Holiday Issue 2007). We were thrilled and honored to be recognized. Christa and I both aspired to contributing to the magazine when we first arrived in Collingwood. In our minds it was, in terms of the quality of photography and content, leaps and bounds above the local competition. So not only to be contributing but also winning awards from them is brilliant. Derek Trask and Bryan Davies were also recognized for their photographic contributions as well.

Across Nottawasaga Bay

We were driving back from a shoot on the escarpment today when we saw this view. Although a familiar view to many what made it special for me was the fact the air was so clear. It seemed that you could see right across Nottawasaga Bay. Although frequently you can see Collingwood and Wasaga Beach from that view point, it is not that often you can see the far side of the bay so clearly.

Holiday Issue of On The Bay Magazine out

The 2007 Holiday issue of On The Bay Magazine is out. For those of you not familiar with the publication it is THE lifestyle magazine of choice in the Southern Georgian Bay area. We have been very fortunate to be involved with the publication for the last three issues. The most recent issue had a piece called Grassroots Heros which talked about ten people,(well really eleven), who made a difference to the community in 2007. We were asked to take their portraits which we did and had great fun doing. We hope you like them as much as we do.

Funky Photographs

Here's the photographs posted earlier looking a little bit different from the originals. Christa is developing the look in photoshop and it isn't as easy as you may imagine. Not for everybody, but if you are looking for something that no one else has on their wall then it might be for you.
